El Cuyo
Ecological Reserve
On the northeast tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, where the turquoise blue of the Caribbean mixes with the warm waters of the Gulf of México, is a tiny, charming fishing village called “El Cuyo”.
This protected area is home to some fascinating and impressive flora and fauna. A fantastic hideaway, it is a real jewel for peace and nature lovers. It is surrounded by palms, coca trees and majestic Ceiba trees which are representative of Yucatán and whose antiquity dates back as far as the Maya culture itself.
Strolling along the beautiful beach of clean, fine sand, visitors come across innumerable varieties of shells and sea snails which are washed ashore with every breaking tide.
