Cenotes are among the most important natural wonders of the state, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit them.

Cuzamá

Well known in the region for its cenotes and the peculiar way to visit them. The tour through the cenotes is done in trucks, small cars pulled by horses, along 7 km of vegetation, giving it an incredible “adventure” flavor.
The main cenotes in this zone are: Cheletún, Chacsinic-che and Bolonchojol.
Visiting hours: 8:00 to 17:00.

Sotuta de Peón

One of the few henequen haciendas in full production. Touring the premises is an extraordinary experience in which beauty, comfort and adventure are the main actors in a voyage through the peninsula’s glorious past. The tour is done in wooden platforms pulled by mules, with metallic wheels. The first stop is a Mayan house, a functional and traditional construction made with paclum -a building material made of soil and grass- in which a Mayan family carry out their daily activities. The second part consists of going deep into the bowels of the Earth, and admiring the amazing beauty of the Dzul-há (water knight) cenote, where natural stone sculptures frame a natural pool of fresh crystalline water where you can swim.
Located 35km south of Merida, 12 minutes away from Tecoh.
Visiting hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 to 16:00 hours.

Tekit

Where There are Open Waters, due to the deep cave-cenote in the place. Tekit has archaeological ruins in Chumul. This town, of great importance during the colony, has two prominent religious buildings: the Ex-convent of San Antonio de Padua and the Chapel of San Cristóbal.
Located in the center-north region of the state.
